On Wednesday, March 4, 2019, the CVU Athletics Department and CVU Baseball coaching staff revealed the 2020 Varsity and JV-A high school baseball schedules to the public, as they look to have another strong year on the baseball diamond. Just like every year, the Varsity baseball team will play one of the toughest schedules in the state, playing thirteen league games which starts at cross-town rival, Essex on Saturday, April 11 .CVU will not have their home opener until they host the Colonels of Brattleboro on Thursday, April 16, as the early part of the schedule is dominant by road games. The Redhawks will travel to Essex, BFA-St. Albans, Middlebury, South Burlington, Mt. Mansfield, Rice Memorial, Colchester and Burlington. CVU will host Brattleboro, Essex, Burr & Burton, Colchester, Burlington, South Burlington, Mt. Mansfield and St. Johnsbury on senior day! Of the sixteen games, three are classified as non-league games which consists of last year's quarterfinals in Hinesburg vs Brattbeloro, an home game against the Seahorses of Burlington, and an away game with Division II powerhouse Middlebury. While the team prepares for the season, CVU will have three scrimmages, two that are away and one at home. Coach Albertson will bring his team to Frontier Regional (MA) and Rutland for scrimmages early on, and then will host the Montreal Titans a few weeks into the season. The JV-A schedule also consists of sixteen games, usually at the opposite site of where the Varsity team is playing. At the end of the year, there will be a JV Jamboree, which will be announced at an later date. Our newly added JV-B will be playing 10-14 games, however, the schedule will not be known until every program evaluates their options in having a JV-B team. For the schedules visit the schedules tab under the Varsity, JV-A and V-B sections of the website. Please note that the schedule for pitchers and coaches, along with tryouts wil be posted soon.
